BB CAFE 78 Marine Parade Drive (905) 237-6565
Many people in our neighbourhood FLOCK to BB's location on the shores, for their infamous Gelato. Flavours are rotated regularly and they are always ready to serve up this refreshing treat. But also, their sponge cakes, boutique cakes (and custom cake catering) as well as their cookies (Nokhodchi - persian shortbread cookies are amazing). Their hot and cold beverages and cafe ambiance make them a great place to reward yourself after getting 10,000 steps in down by the water!
Eden Trattoria 58 Marine Parade Drive (416) 255-5588
A staple in the Humber Bay Shores Community, Eden Trattoria is a destination at all times of the year - eat in and take out! Their huge patio on Marine Parade drive fronts their two storey restaurant enclosed in floor to ceiling windows - with a clear view of the lake and downtown Toronto skyline.
My favourite menu items are the Chicken Parm (the best i've EVER had anywhere), the Vitello (veal) Pizzaiola, and the Seafood Risotto (which is actually light while it's filling).
Their treatment of sirloin steaks and Grilled seafood is definitely worth exploring as well, as are their fabulous desserts. The freshest and tastiest Pastas, meats and vegetables are found throughout their menu.
It will be great to visit this patio, as the weather improves and restrictions eventually get lifted!
Huevos Gourmet 160 Marine Parade Drive (ground floor of Eau Du Soleil - 20 Shore Breeze) (416) 253-1390 www.huevosgourmet.ca
What an awesome addition to our community on the western most corner of Marine Parade Drive. This location was opened in the early spring of 2021 during Grey-Zone lockdown in Toronto. They feature breakfast and brunch with an authentic mexican flare. They pride themselves on the freshest of ingredients and cooking methods. The flavours in their bennies, Huevos dishes, Omelettes, Burritos is truly spectacular Pictured here is my favourite go-to, the breakfast burrito with Spicy Chorizo Sausage!
This restaurant is going to be packed and lined up for full dining, once the restrictions are lifted. Get in there now and try out the MANY menu items during this takeout period!
Panagio’s All Day Grill 2324 Lakeshore Blvd West 647 341 5500 www.panagios.ca
This is some of the best brunch in Toronto. Their all-day breakfast menu is unique and covers a lot of bases. They are known for their creative takes on Eggs Benedict and their huge 4-egg omelettes.
They have a cute little (solemn) side patio which I love in the summer (non covid times obviously)- to chill out with their fresh strong coffee and always a big and satisfying meal. The staff is courteous and attentive and the service is consistent. You cant ask for any more.
My favourites are:
Cinnamon Apple French Toast – It is sweet and decadent
Oreo Pancakes – I was surprised with how much I enjoyed this the first time I had it and its one of those special treats for when ive actually been following my diet and want a ‘cheat breakfast’
The Smoked Omelette is amazing – has huge chunks of Kielbasa Sausage and thick layers of cheese
Carlitos Way and Huevos on the Ranch – two very interesting takes on Huevos Rancheros
Cluckin’ Good is their fried chicken strips on a waffle. Absolutely delicious
Tita’s Mexican Food 7-2491 Lakeshore Blvd West
647 693 8422 www.titasmexicanfood.ca
IG : @titasmexicanfood
Tita’s is a traditional family owned and run Mexican food restaurant. Predominantly take out since they opened – their cuisine, use of spice and flavour is second to none.
I first met them at the Humber Bay Shores Summer Market where they had a booth spot all summer. They serve most dishes a-la-carte, some would refer to this as Mexican “Street food” but you can always purchase nice-sized rice and refried black beans to compliment your main item choices.
They have updated/upgraded their web presence – and they now have online ordering available! Check it out!
Jumping into my favourites:
The Tostada. Check out the picture. Its absolutely massive, and delicious. The Tinga de Polla and Carnitas tacos are amazing.
The light and airy shaped Bunelos (similar to a churro only without the thick heavy doughy inside) is a nice way to end the meal without feeling RIDICULOUS.
Tita’s is a small NICHE restaurant which is limited to take out. If you like Mexican food and you’re in the area, check them out. You will be impressed!!!
Nimman Thai Cuisine 2451 Lakeshore Blvd West 416 255 4224 www.nimman.ca
In non covid times the dining room is calming and relaxing, and they serve up some very flavourful dishes.
EVERYTHING on their menu has a distinct flavour and aroma.
Everything is SO FRESH – the veggies are always crisp and the meats are always butcher fresh , moist and flavourful.
My favourites are:
The Garden (FRESH) Rolls, or their entire Appetizer platter. Their shrimp rolls and satays are also amazing. The Mango salad is cool and fresh.
I love their Thai Basil Noodles with Chicken, Spicy Lime Lamb (it definitely has a good kick) but my absolute favourite and go-to is the Thai Grilled Chicken. I get random cravings for this specific dish often and I quickly jump online or on the phone and place my order.
Nelson’s Certified Auto Repair (CAR) 226 Royal York Road
416 231 8913
Nelson’s Certified Auto Repair (CAR) is one of the best in the business for anything and everything automotive repair. This is a full-service shop, and a great dealer alternative. The professionally trained technicians will repair and service front-to-back and top-to-bottom of all cars and trucks, all makes and models. No job is too big.
They promote and happily provide regular inspections, maintenance, consultations, and quick quotations.
A staple of the Humber Bay shores community, clients rave about Nelson’s outstanding and precise level of service, turnaround time, flexibility, and PRICE. The prices are extremely reasonable and most other garages quote much higher.
Last year my car had an issue/reaction to a brake replacement and Nelson/Mike and their team immediately solved the issue – and got me on my way (this included creating a timeslot for me and skipping me ahead of a busy set of appointments). And again, more recently in 2021, through careful and concise diagnostics - they identified and quickly fixed a variety of issues which definitely saved me from getting into "situations" down the road.... THANKS GUYS!
If youre on the Humber Bay or frankly anywhere in Etobicoke or the west end, come down to Mimico and give them a try – it’s definitely worth it.
Humber Bay Shores Farmer's Market (May - Sept)
Entrance: opposite 2240 Lakeshore Blvd West
OPENS MAY 29, 2021!!
Between the May and October long weekends, the market can be found in the first parking lot of Humber Bay Park West. There are approximately 20 vendors ranging from fresh fruits to wines to hot breakfast and lunch cuisine!
Most of these vendors are only equipped to accept cash so make sure to stop at an ATM on your way!
For me, this is a great place to load up on fresh Ontario grown produce, Jams and preserves, pastries and breads!
And, in the middle of the summer (usually the second weekend of August) the HBSCA produces an annual street fair version of the market with carnival rides, on-street entertainment, over 40 vendor spaces and other activites/games for kids. This happens on Marine Parade Drive - the street itself is closed to traffic on that particular day. Hopefully this fair will return in 2021! We'll keep an eye on :
